Re: What memory?
The 680i I believe uses DDR2 800 ram, I think that is what you have.

-- Thu Mar 05, 2009 10:17 pm --

If your wanting a little more speed, the 680i (depending on motherboard model) supports upto 1333 of DDR2. Check your motherboard manf. support site to determine if your model will support the uprated ram.

I suggest OCZ either platnium or gold edition rams, the important thing looking at the speed and latency as well as voltage requirements to make sure your board will handle it.

Re: What memory?
go for 1066 (not 1065...) Most people say that you should clock your memory to the FSB of your CPU or put it in a specific ratio.

Re: What memory?
i believe the fsb for you cpu should be 1333 not 333. So ddr2 1200 (PC2-9600) is the max your mobo supports, and the closest to 1333 if u want to get it.

Do they even make 1333 ram in ddr2? is it only ddr3?

and i believe this is your mobo,

Re: What memory?
I think he meant DDR2 800 (PC2 6400). I used to have the 680i AR version in my old PC, I still have it and it supports DDR2 clocked up to 1333mhz with overclock.

So basically DDR2 800 to 1200 would work.

Re: What memory?
yes, thats what i said in my post, max the mobo supports is ddr2 1200 - unless u oc it as you said, i did not say that.

and no, if you look at the last line in his post it says cpu fsb clock 333mhz is what i was referring to not the ram Tongue
