Here's the way the law WAS: Cop pulls someone over, cop finds out they're illegal, cop detains that person for 72 hours and hopes that the feds come and pick them up

Here's the way the law works NOW: Cop pulls someone over, cop finds out they're illegal, cop arrests them, fines them, detains them UNTIL the feds come pick them up and deport them back to wherever they came from. Furthermore, they now have a federal offense on record, so if they come back and get caught again they go to federal prison, and get raped by fines.

It's not like the police are going to be going around like the fucking gestapo asking for papers. You do something wrong, traffic violation etc (big problem since most can't read English), THEN the process starts.

we dont need any more people in prison, especially for non violent shit. all thats gonna do is waste more tax dollars keeping them fed..

ahhh, I missed Teo and his voice of reason. B-) as usual, he nailed it on the head. There's no reason to seriously bust someone for a traffic offense. Now, drunk driving, careless driving, driving into/over a pedestrian/bicyclist is another story (points should be awarded), but yeah, if you're speeding, and/or getting around the people in your way that dont' know how to drive (usually about 98% of the people driving), you should not be detained. They should simply make you an example for other people to try to follow, and move on.

^ it's no long term session, just a brief (in most cases) detention and the they get deported.
