Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

New computer, Vista 64, blah blah blah,
Installed BF2 from cd, downloaded patch 1.41 from tracker and when it comes time to install it, I get "Can't find install folder for BF2™". While running the install wizard.
Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

Edit: The booster packs do the same when I try to install them....

No option to tell the program where to look? If you installed it to anything other than like c:\program files\activision\battlefield 2 or whatever it defaults to?

Google it.

x86 programs are installed in the x86 program files folder, so that's why the patch is probably not finding it.

I had to reinstall everything in the "Program Files" insted of Program Files(x68).

Now when I get ito a server it boots me in 1 second and I cant read why. Nothing fucking works.

Does it give you a reason for the kick?

It's AA giving you a sign, NEVER STRAY AWAY FROM AA or else you will die in a fiery PC assplosion.

its kicks me before i can get the weapons loadout screen down.
i need someone to help me make it so i can have XP and vista on this P.O.S.
Games are gonna have to go on XP.
I'll be home tomarrow probably all day, east coast time if anyone is around that know what they are talking about.

You may need to turn it on, PB doesn't like it when you don't run as administrator, it will kick you for Inadequate O/S Privileges.

If that doesn't work, and you still can't read the kick message before you get kicked, try taking a screenshot and looking at it later.

[EDIT] Also, turn off the irritating Vista security features (including Windows Firewall). They may be blocking the connection.

It's actually pretty easy if you have 2 hard drives or 1 big ass drive. With 2 hard drives, just put in your bootable XP cd, reboot, hit a key when it asks if you want to boot from cd, and that'll start the install process. Now, here's the part you have to be careful with. You'll have to do a clean install, which means formatting your drive. That's where the 2nd hd comes in handy, when windows asks where you want XP to go, just point it to the empty drive, let it finish, remove cd, reboot, and it'll ask you what OS you want to run, Vista :ymsick: or XP. :ymparty:
