You know what pisses me off?

"as the City’s Job Czar,"

That.
Raise your right hand, and repeat after me.
I do solemnly swear,
To run like a Kenyan.
Teabag mofos.
And shoot 'em in the dick.

Re: LA DWP responds to Arizona's threats.
First, using the term Czar is aneurysm inducing. It implies total and supreme power, which is an indignation given the country we're in. Oh yeah, and Stalin had appointed Czars too. If we started calling the president Fuhrer, people would be rioting in the streets. Or maybe not, guy in charge is the guy in charge, right?

Second: U.S.Energy Information Administration ownership statistics. Broken down per reactor.

Palo Verde-1 Arizona Public Service Company (29.1%) Arizona Public Service Company
Salt River Project (17.5%)
El Paso Electric Company (15.8%)
Southern California Edison Co. (15.8%)
Public Service Company of New Mexico (10.2%)
Southern California Public Power Authority (5.9%)
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (5.7%)

Palo Verde-2 Arizona Public Service Company (29.1%) Arizona Public Service Company
Salt River Project (17.5%)
El Paso Electric Company (15.8%)
Southern California Edison Co. (15.8%)
Public Service Company of New Mexico (10.2%)
Southern California Public Power Authority (5.9%)
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (5.7%)

Palo Verde-3 Arizona Public Service Company (29.1%) Arizona Public Service Company
Salt River Project (17.5%)
El Paso Electric Company (15.8%)
Southern California Edison Co. (15.8%)
Public Service Company of New Mexico (10.2%)
Southern California Public Power Authority (5.9%)
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (5.7%)

Looks like LADWP will have to beg, borrow, and steal their power from other places in California instead of from us from now on.

Alright by me. I'm tired of having rolling blackouts every summer when LA sucks too much from the grid. Time to get your own wheels boys.
Raise your right hand, and repeat after me.
I do solemnly swear,
To run like a Kenyan.
Teabag mofos.
And shoot 'em in the dick.

Re: LA DWP responds to Arizona's threats.
^ California based companies and LADWP own majority stake overall in those companies, Arizona's threats are not a scarey situation for the DWP. The goverment of Arizona as you posed owns ~29%, so...

By the way the guy used the term "Czar" in a humorous statement.

Re: LA DWP responds to Arizona's threats.
I didn't read it as him using "Czar" in a way to mock the term. Upon re-reading I still don't see how he's using it in any other way than title comparison with a terrible choice of words.

[THANATOS Wrote:.-Hades"]^ California based companies and LADWP own majority stake overall in those companies, Arizona's threats are not a scarey situation for the DWP. The goverment of Arizona as you posed owns ~29%, so...

Severely incorrect.

Arizona Public Service Company (29.1%)
Arizona Public Service Company Salt River Project (17.5%)

Southern California Public Power Authority (5.9%)
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (5.7%)

LADWP will have to beg/borrow from SCPPA for power that's delegated to all areas of southern California. You really think the rest of so-cal is going to want to throw the scraps they're getting at one town because they have an opinion based in fantasy land?

This leaves them the option of reworking a deal with wherever else they're getting power from, or buying power from a private organization -- Southern California Edison Co. (15.8%), which, trust me, they're gonna get raped for.

Your job Czar is a dumbass.

Re: LA DWP responds to Arizona's threats.
We pay our energy bill to Edison, which provides most of the service around my area and the general LA area. LADWP is getting most of its energy from Edison, so I don't think there's gonna be price" "raping" beyond what it is now.

Re: LA DWP responds to Arizona's threats.
Supply and demand, brother man.

Job Czar isn't doing you any favors by reducing the supply and the competition in one fell swoop, both of which keep prices stable. The revocation of trade in regards to power supply is a direct response to the bleeding heart boycott set in place by people who either misinterpret the law, or haven't laid eyes on it and are just going by what they hear from their idiot colleagues and take what they say at face value. Then you have morons like Shakira, Mexican president Felipe Calderon (Who's country has stricter immigration laws than our state), and Fidel Castro (yeah, Mr. shoot people that try to leave) that aren't even citizens, running their big fat mouths about how we should be handling things.

Also, with cities like San Francisco declaring themselves safe havens for illegals, you're gonna just inherit all the problems we're getting rid of. Won't be long before they wake up one day and go, "Wow, there's more of these bastards here than we can handle. What's that? The federal government isn't enforcing the laws? We need to take care of this ourselves then."

I'm proud of what my state is doing. Texas and Utah are waking up and thinking about enacting similar laws. Meanwhile, the federal government is still talking about it like they have been for decades while the problem gets worse. It's about time someone stood up and said, "Do your job, or we'll do it for you."

Keep in mind, this isn't directed at the entire state of California, just the mongoloids that decided it would be a good idea to boycott like hippies when they can't even wrap their heads around the situation.

This guy is from California, and he gets it.

Suck on that, Mexico.

Re: LA DWP responds to Arizona's threats.
^ First part made me go whatttttt?

Like I stated previously I don't really care about that law in Arizona, at best I've got some mixed feelings about it but that's all.

2nd, I found the DWP's response funny and that's why I posted it. These "boycotts" are just political ploys and nothing more, empty words. Which is why Arizona's power threats were funny cause they failed to realize that the majority of these politicians are just pandering to the large hispanic populations here. It will blow over soon cause $ > concerns for illegals and their "rights".

And congrats to the Los Suns (amare stoudemire + steve nash, ftw) for kicking Kobe's ass tonight.
