New Comp Build
I was thinking i would get my bro a comp for his bday, i dont have time to go through parts and wahts good and not, so if one you guys can just go through these two sites and put together a comp for around $800, leave out the vid card if you want, just make it futureproof so i think and i7 set up would be good, mainly just want cpu, ram, mobo and a case, vid card if there is enough in the budget. He has an 8800 right now

-- Sun Jun 07, 2009 1:14 pm --

use these two site plz

In any case, I'd probably get a Core 2 Quad or possibly a Core 2 Extreme and overclock it - they have stronger architecture than both the Phenom II and the i7s, and will perform better in games if you crank up the clock speed. Even at stock the higher end Core 2's will outperform the Phenom II in most games and a lot of the i7s. |

Re: New Comp Build
I went and checked out a few as well. Ended up at the Alienware site. No monitor, piddly 4850 gfx card, 300 gig 10K Raptor. Some toys, came to $2200 USD or so. Would just switch my 4890 out and hook up my monitor, not a bad deal though. Might wanna check it out, and (OMG!) the Dell site as well, some of their gaming systems weren't actually bad. And they're not running all that propietary shit on them.
