Steam Pre-loading AAO3

Well, I hit tracker, and saw the message that can pre-load AAO3 now. So, signed up, created a steam account, and am currently 5% done the download. Game won't unluck till the 17th or whatever, but I figured I'd get a jump on the downloading. Might be worth a try.

preloaded and waiting for release date I guess.

Now I'm upgrading the beta, 1.85 GB patch so it should fix 90% of the problems or maybe it adds more :think:.

I just remembered that all your training and points get uploaded to a master server which in turn would either not work due to the server not being online until the 17th, or if it WAS working, send up a red flag...

no way to crack it anyways, activation must be sent by steam servers on release date.

sucks that i have to do training all over, shit took a while to get expert on everything and god damn beta patch is taking foreverrrr 2 hrs elasped and ~4 more to go @ 90 KB/s average.

Just got home. Survived my bike ride, survived game 6, survived the card games, survived the drinking, survived the ride home. Got home, move mouse, steam download complete! :ymparty: :ymparty:

So how would you launch the game with steam? do you have to open steam then launch AAO or can you put a short cut on desktop?

Open Steam and click launch game.

You have an option to create a desktop icon in Steam and then when it's released you just click and run it from the icon like you would for any other icon. The icon is the same as the 3.0 beta deploy client icon but with the traditional icon colors applied (just a random snip of info that has nothing to do with anything).
