Doom Resurrection Announced for iPhone

John Carmack and id Software have announced Doom Resurrection, a new chapter in the Doom franchise that is being developed exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Using assets from Doom 3, Resurrection will be a first-person shooter with a twist, utilizing the iPhone's touch screen to create a unique experience. In addition to the announced trailer, which is featured below, Carmack also stated that he's very excited about working on Apple's platform and that he feels the iPhone may be an even more capable portable gaming system than the PSP. Pricing is not yet available.

I loved Doom 3. I like any game that makes me look behind me for a hulking already brute about to anally rape me. :-s Fear and Fear 2 were good for that.
