I was bored so I decided to play some Chess Titans (>AA3) and Vista pulls some serious bullshit. Is there some rule that allows this chain of events or is the computer just a cheat?

When a pawn advances two squares, if there is an opponent's pawn on an adjacent file next to its destination square, then the opponent's pawn can capture it and move to the square the pawn passed over, but only on the next move. For example, if the black pawn has just advanced two squares from f7 to f5, then the white pawn on e5 can take it via en passant on f6.

Thanks Packy. That's sort of a weird rule.

most people don't use it, especially in friendly home games. And
most people don't know that rule. You can only use it, when your
in the other persons 4th roll, and only when they move the 2 squares.
thats the only time that pawns can move 2 squares anyway. I have
played competitive chess for years. Why I know the rule. I am having
to "always" explain that rule, to regular players all the time.

Love chess, still a nub at it. Is that sorta like a castling thing? Another thing a buddy of mine does that I have no clue about.

In that it's a move that can only be made in a specific position, yes, it is kinda like castling.
