Cancun Flight Home
When we left Cancun our flight was from Cancun to Miami on American Airlines. When I book our seats I ALWAYS get the ones at the trailing edge of the wings.
I like to watch the flaps and ailerons move. Well im looking at the wing and an odd shaped panel looked funny to me, so im looking for WHAT is making it odd. EUREKA !!!! 6 consecutive screws out of 15 are missing on one side !!!!!!!!! eeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk now what do I do ??? I keep my mouth shut to not start a panic. So when we land I wait for everyone to exit then I proceed to the captain. I tell him what I saw and what seat I was in. He thanks me and says he will take care of it. A week goes by and I have this nagging intuition so I call the FAA and report what I saw. 3 days later an investigator calls me and tells me that NO report was ever made and that he grounded the plane. They inspected the gromets and replaced the screws. He told me I did GOOD and was curious as to what made me look at the screws so I told him that im a vessel examiner in the US Coast Guard. In one more weeks time im getting a detailed report on what actions were taken to correct the plane and if any actions are going to be taken against the pilot. I told him they should take his wings away and let him work in maintenance, the stupid bastard. So when I get the report i'll post it here. | |||

Re: Cancun Flight Home
Yeah man. That's total bullshit with him knowingly risking the lives of passengers like that. You also figure they make 2-3 flights per shift depending on distance, so in one shift he could have put 500 people at risk.

Re: Cancun Flight Home
Bah, planes only need 1 wing to fly. The other one's just for symmetry. ;;)
Hhehe, seriously though, that's probably the reason why I WOULDN'T look too closely at anything I have no control over. I would've been freaked right out. Where the fucks my parachute!?!?!?! And bring me more of those baby bottles of RYE! Now! |
