Shit. Mobo's toast

Well, put my 2nd vid card in, with power plug unplugged, etc. Shit, Crossfire bridge is too short. Having to go from top slot to bottom slot as the 2nd slot is no longer there. Shit, ok, pull the power plug, unplug the power cables from the card, hit the lock to release the card properly this time, remove card. Power plug back in, reboot, no video, hmm, ok, verify cables going to vid card, reboot again, no video, and uhoh, no lights on keyboard either. Uhoh. Mobo's getting power, have lights on on the mobo, power and reset buttons on mobo work. Power supply's good. Shit, well, just ordered a new P6T Deluxe V2 and a 1.5 gig baracuda from newegg. Express shipping. Sigh. Word of advice. ALWAYS build your own computer. Then you know exactly what's going on. I'm on my old computer now as the beast just sits there gathering dust for the time being. Fun Fun Fun.

Worked out sorta well actually. I didn't like the whole getting a pre-made pc thing. Yes, the computer worked perfect. But I had no options to even get into the BIOS! :-? :-? :-? :-? Didn't care for that at all. Anyway, yeah, I fuxored the mobo, ordered another one from newegg, along with another 1.5tb hd. Ordered the mobo with a rush job, nothing special for the hd. Got the hd 2 days later. Took like 6 days for the mobo, and yeah, I paid like an extra $40 for rush shipping. :-\ Anyway, pulled out old mobo, installed new one, nice gushy cpu paste, everything pretty, threw mobo bak in, hooked everytihng back up, forgot the fucking back plate for the liquid cooling. OOPS! Power down, put back plate on, re-install mobo, get 1 screw in for liquid cooling, and then realize, I can't hook up the liquid cooling that way, sigh. Ok, change order, liquid cooling goes on while mobo is OUT of the case, hook all up, tighten, re-install mobo (3rd time), remember back plate, tighten up liquid cooling, add power, boot. All good. Ok, I7 920, stock 2.66ghz. I bump it up, now running 3.34 GHZ with Corsair Dominator (6 GB) at 1604 mhz. Ahhhh, CPUZ and GPUZ seem to love my computer. :-B =p~

Someones got a shit load of $. And yes, liquid cooling is a bitch to install (I had to drill and cut portions of my case to fit everything in).

With the new mobo in, both cards in, and the oc'ing, system's running perfect. CPU temps stay WAY low, fans keep themselves on low speed, they adjust themselves accordingly. Aside from the 5 inch or so fan right on the top of the case (Antec 902) it's surprisingly quiet. Only thing I can't figure out is why my hd speed is my bottleneck in the Win 7 performance test. It runs at 5.9, everything else is in the 7's. Now, it's a Corsair 128 gig SSD for the OS, and my games and 2nd OS (XP 64 bit) are on my e: which is a 300 gig velocirapter. I checked around, I have defragging off on the SSD, and yes, Win 7 is set to run the drive as an SSD. Forgot how I checked, but it's some option that's enabled or disabled, whichever it is, it's right. I've run the tests in Lavalys? Ultimate, it's a benchmarking thingy, and my computer is actually running faster than most I7 965's, so, I'm confused as to the bottleneck on the HD speed test, according to Windoze anyway. Yes, system boots up nice and fast, loads everything really fast. No complaints, just curious as to the 5.9. Any idea's?

Oh yeah, still thinking about upgrading to 2 5870's, or 1 5970. Just for the true hdmi port, I'm running dvi-hdmi cable into the tv, but no audio, I know the real HDMI port on the card will fix that.

Oh yeah, Hades, actually, the liquid cooling was easier to install than any other cooler. I was just doing it in the wrong order, but it works great. It's from Corsair as well. Has the lcd on it. Little expensive, but not much more than most good air coolers, definately worth it.
