I know it's been awhile since I've been on here more than a few seconds for the shoutbox, but I figured I'd give everyone an update since it's been at least over a year, maybe 2.

In my last year of vet school (graduate June 2012), just took boards last month... will get the results next month or Feb. No job lined up yet, but the search is starting... thinking of trying to stay in Ohio for now, but who knows where I'll end up. Hades better watch out... I can effectively castrate now (no pain meds or anesthesia in his case).

Still playing with my band here and there (facebook.com/nystagmusband). Just hobby level, not really anything beyond that. You can check us out on youtube (username: nystagmusband) if you want to see some of our live stuff, we don't have anything professionally recorded yet except some live recordings through the soundboard. The newest song is "...And The Sex Was Good" haha. Meatstick, you'd like the solo... bluesy in the beginning with 3-string sweeps & taps included in the sweeps... I've definitely improved since we last spoke.

Haven't really been playing any games for a long ass time now. Tried to do some AA2 the one day, realized I didn't have all my old custom settings since it was a fresh install... got pissed, too lazy to change them, and quit lol.

I miss playing and sittin on vent with you guys, but any free time I get I always feel guilty if I'm not getting shit done that needs to be done. I just have a laptop these days too, so any super new games won't run I'm sure.

Oh I rescued a another cat, it's a cute little Seal Point ragdoll. It seems really healthy but it has a small limp, its front right leg is injured. Should I wait a little bit and see if it just heals? The last cat I rescued a couple months back was like that too and I ended up paying the vet for nothing more than bandages -__-

This time I'm fucking broke and can't dish out hundreds, how much would an xray cost?

Fuckin Hop on vent once in a while. Even if you're not able to play, jaw jacking is still welcome. Same goes to hebrew if he ever stumbles in the door.

Hades, it really depends on a lot of factors. How old do you think the cat is? Do you have any previous history on it? If it is FeLV or FIV positive, it's gonna have a rough life either way and is contagious to other cats. If it's just a soft tissue injury from falling, it may be fine on its own... if it's a fracture, whether or not it'd heal on its own would depend on health, age and severity of the fracture. If it's from a fight with another animal, the damage that is visible is probably only the tip of the iceberg.

I can't really guess how much limb xrays would be because you're in a much different economical location than I am. I think it's like $70 or 80 at the OSU-VMC but I'm not positive. That's not counting the office visit charge you would undoubtedly get... that being said, it sounds like the animal should probably see a vet. Discuss your options with the vet since you rescued the cat... some will work with you. I can only guess what's going on without seeing it myself. I hope that helps some.

The cat still runs around, no swelling, still jumps but has that noticeable limp since it keeps its weight off of it. After reading a bit it sounds like she's not that badly injured so I think I'm gonna wait a week and see if it's better. I looked at the average cost here and it would go from $250-350 for something minor

Hades, I forgot to mention that it also may be a developmental abnormality since it's a young animal. If you're going to hold off on doing anything, just monitor for pain, swelling, discharge, or any other things that may concern you. If it's developmental, repair is done a few different ways, but is typically expensive (to my knowledge, but I'm always in an academic setting, so that may differ outside of that type of setting)... sometimes can cause long-term problems, but it really depends on the abnormality. If you have any questions, just lemme know.

Well I graduated this past May and took a job in Dallas, Tejas. I work for a company called DRS Technologies in the Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition division as a software engineer. My project should look familiar to you guys. And yes, it does make an annoying sound in real life when you die during MILES simulation.

Sooooo as of this past Tuesday I found out I passed my national veterinary boards... aside from graduating from the school itself (not a challenge at this point), I'm officially a veterinarian! Bring it on.
