Headphones
HD 202 or HD 555

I'm really only considering the 555 because they are 50% off. Does anyone have experience with either of them?

RE: Headphones
I had the HD202's but I only had them because the store ran out of HD555s. The left side of mine died; I am assuming its because my chair ran over the cord to many times so I am currently using the Sound Blaster Tactic Alpha 3D which is probably one of the best headphones I have used, and I have used a good amount of them due to Eunis' influence Tongue

But ya get the 555's especially if 50% off.

RE: Headphones
If those were the only 2 options, definitely the the deluxe model.

Recommended alternative to overpriced German product: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6826816002
Have them, dig 'em lots.

RE: Headphones
That's because the previous model was USB only and everyone was like "WTF CORSAIR" So, they gave us what we wanted.

RE: Headphones
I will say this, if you're looking for over saturated bass, these aren't for you. You're not going to get belligerent vibrations on the sides of your head. With the fleather earcups, you get a decent bass response, which can be tweaked via the creative software to taste without issue. Mids and highs are nice and crisp, more of a "dry" sound. It's like the difference between a soundproofed dead room vs. a two car garage with concrete flooring and no drywall. This "dryness" makes a good sounding music mix or game/movie environment even better, but it also makes a shitty sound job that much more apparent. They're made to play as many simultaneous sounds as your card/game will allow for without jumbling them up courtesy 50mm speakers. Couldn't tell you if I personally hear 128 separate things at any given time (pretty sure you have to be autistic for that), but I DEFINITELY DO notice a difference in multiple sound separation. Better separation = better situational awareness. The 3d location is as expected and will perform to the limits of your card/game as well.

They're built well, anyone that says they break is either a slob, or needs counseling. Super long braided cable has been ran over more than a few times (my reason for seeking a new headset) and no damage has occurred to the wiring. I have heard better microphones though, but I'd say it's in the "acceptable" category. The only purpose built headset that I would say beats the corsair would be the psykos -- either of them (and no, I don't own either, psyko can kiss my dick for $350). But that's also comparing walnuts to watermelons.

TLDR version: 4.5/5
