RE: Comp Died
Think it's called Crystal Disk, should give you all temps for all mobo's, whether or not the smart is active and good, etc. If you really wanna go nuts. Grab Lavalysys or something like that, programs called Everest, it monitors EVERYTHING! CPU, MOBO, HD's, Vid Cards, etc. temps anyway. Glad it was just the psu bud, not too expensive to replace. A good mobo costs a fortune.

RE: Comp Died
Smart move, the PSU is usually an afterthought, where it should be a primary concern. Get a good one and you don't have to worry about what vid card(s) and other crap. It's nice to have one less thing to worry about when upgrading. Cool

RE: Comp Died
You can find a really good PSU for $100-120 atm IDK why you spent $200.

Good case is $150-$250, he's probably including tax (fucking 15% here in Ontarioland) and maybe shipping as well.

ya it was about 160 with tax got the 750w version of the one that sneye posted, cept mine has the detachable cables to save room in the case. When i buy something i assume that it will cost me to the nearest hundredth, dont know why thats just how i am. Makes my finances alot easier especially when i end up with a couple grand more of what i expect to actually have, then i blow it all on girls and liqour Big Grin

RE: Comp Died
Sounds like a good idea.

But with a PSU you can sometimes get a great deal without sacrificing quality (these high end psu's used to be really expensive but since they're now a requirement for gamers the prices are dropping).

RE: Comp Died
got me curious there. I went with a modular psu as well. Again, this was a few months ago.

Antec True Power Quattro 850 cost me $221.76. Now, same thing is

ANTEC TRUE POWER QUATTRO 850W POWER SUPPLY 0761345-27850-8 [QUATTRO 850] {WebID:26921}

$168.18
This item is currently In-Stock

So, $170 now. I've always believed that you get what you pay for. At least with computer stuff and women anyway. TongueCool

RE: Comp Died
Ya, i used to buy generic psus because they worked really well, but after this one i dont think ill be taking that chance anymore, dont mind spending $100 more when the machine prob cost about $1500 to build at the time.

I bought an alienware laptop, overpriced but its small and powerful couldnt find anything like it, especially with the warranty i got for the short time period that i looked.

You do get what you pay for, cept for the women thing, in some countries it can cost you $10 for a bj Tongue Up here the time and energy it would take to get a girl to do that would cost 50 times as much (it is worth it though).
