SSD-SAS-SATAII Question for the smarter folks.
Ok, think I'm going to end up with a SSD as my C: on next computer. Question is, will the OS/Mobo support that? And/or make a big difference in speed? I'm grabbing Windoze 7 beta right now, as I remember reading something about it supporting SSD drives. Any info? Thanks. :-B

Re: SSD-SAS-SATAII Question for the smarter folks.
SSD's use SATA port (3.0 GB/sec one) and if your mobo has that, then it should work. Vista, XP, and Windows 7 all supports SSD's.
BTW after about a week+ with the Windows 7 beta, I think it's great and you should try it. | |||

Cool, thanks guys.
Angel, have you noticed a big jump in speed with that drive? Hades, good to hear, I'll probably get Win 7 tonight and probably set it up as a dual boot. |

Re: SSD-SAS-SATAII Question for the smarter folks.
Too many factors in that to actually deduce that the SSD is responsible for the speed difference, although it probably is responsible for a good chunk of the boost. Though both processors maybe clocked in at 1.6 GHz they are entirely different, same with RAM, and mobo. EeePC's arn't really beefy to begin with but you still can't compare them to an old P4 rig.
