Well it's over⦠Today I turned in my resignation to the Army⦠I have been offered a position with a Hospital as the Director of Clinical Psychology⦠it got me really thinking⦠thinking a lotâ¦
I came to the conclusion⦠I want to spend time with my children and familyâ¦.
So I have resigned effective 01DEC09, passed on the job offer. and I am simply going to take a few months and relax with my familyâ¦.
I am tired of missing events of my family's lifeâ¦
I know this isn't exactly the most opportune time, however it has confirmed to me that no matter what happens, I will always be at the bay of the the tides of the military⦠Unlike a traditional soldier⦠I don't have deployment periods⦠I totaled up the time I have spent away from my family in the past 12 months⦠which totaled to 5, which although doesn't hold a stick to a standard deployment for the Army⦠it is not what I came to the military to do.. I took my original position with the Marines, simply helping soldiers, when I relocated I moved to the Army.. I had an occasional travel, but it was rare.. As time went on, I got more and more involved, and changed positions from what I love, which is helping people, specifically soldiers, to dealing with the administrative side of things. I went from spending 90% of my time treating and healing to 1% of my time doing it⦠I get pulled into the events that happen around the military for a consult, but I don't get the face time with the patients anymore.
I am going to do something I have never done before, NOTHING⦠I am going to be just a Momâ¦. Once Alex decided what he is going to do⦠I will⦠if he stay's in the Army⦠so be it⦠if he Separatesâ¦. so be itâ¦. but until he decides, I am gonna be here at home⦠relaxing⦠taking the kids out⦠just enjoying life with the wonderful family I haveâ¦.

Now, keep in mind, if your family is anything like mine, you'll be looking to go back to work in a month just to get some time to yourself.
