Hey all you fagtastic son of a bitches. I know it's been a bit.... I have been living it up.. After about day 25 I finally started getting a bit more comfortable with the whole not being a career woman. Since then life has been wonderful. I spend most all day with the kiddos. When I am not doing that I am riding, working on my infinate projects, or spending time writing a summary journal article for Division 19 which is the Society for Military Psychology within the APA, about my career, my observations and my experiences. Alex is starting terminal leave at the beginning of March. I have decided to start volunteering my time working with the VA since there are 2 hospitals within an hour and a half of my home and a clinic 30 min from my home. (I Know I Am Hopeless When It Comes To Working). I will not be seeing scheduled patients, but have decided I missed patient care with my job, something I Lost as I advanced and spent less and less time with patients. So I am going to do what I loved, help those who helped us. I have agreed that starting in March I will take on 2 - 3 patients that the VA's regional director feels I could help them with by providing a bit more care than the VA is capable of providing due to the current number of Veterans that are in the VA's helthcare system. Alex is going to take the free lancing he has been doing in the area and start doing it full time.

Well that about sums up the past 60 days I have 24 days left and I met my goal of 90 days not working. It has shown me that I DON'T need a full time career to complete any part of my life. and I have decided that if I do ever take another career job outside of private practice I am not going to take on that inhibits the jobs of life that I have for the first time truely discovered at home.
good stuff.

VA = ?

sounds like you're doing well Big Grin
VA refers to the Veterans Affairs org (mostly the hospitals and related centers).

and infinate = infinite (gotta foster that rep of being a jerk)

Anyways... nice to see that RL is treating you well Angel, IDK why you're so keen to return to a full time job though. Working is overrated.

This. Working blows, money doesn't.

This is one of those rare times when I can actually apply knowledge gained from a beer commercial:

"If you do something you love, you never work a day in your life." - That guy from the Sam Adam's ads... I'm pretty sure he's the owner.

However, the gist I got from this was that Angel is volunteering, and last I checked volunteers don't get paid.

Good for you Angel. Maybe you'll rack up a bunch of points with ol' Karma, and end up winning the lottery. I know it's not your agenda, but it would be pretty sweet if that happened.
Work only sucks if you find yourself working in a job that doesn't leave you happy. If you enjoy it then you get bored. That was my problem. I lost sight of what I loved and hated going to work

I think this is what you meant, right? Nice to see you around again!

Angel, good stuff, I've missed a lot of what's led up to this, but it sounds like you're exactly where you want to be, good stuff, well done. Enjoy the time with your family and enjoy helping out the people you can, it sounds like that's what your best at, and it makes you happy. Tums UP! :clap:
Sorry about the away time. Been wicked busy with the kiddos and family and working on some of the projects I have been working on. I am hoping in the next 30-60 days things will settle down. I have been volunteering my time working with the VA trying to take their PTSD program into the arena it needs to be in to handle the volume of patients that they are and will continue to experience. I have found that not getting into the politics of the bs is where I have my happy place. I get to help direct the level of care that soldiers receive for the positive, because god knows many have been hung out to dry. But I also get to get directly involved with the soldiers. Something I didn't get to do much when It was my job to help them. Now I don't have to hear people bitch and moan about costs. I just tell them from the outside looking in. "this is where you are fucking up, to fix it do this" and then they do the rest if possible. So far I am pulling about a 60% success rate. Compared to my 45-55% I had before on actually getting things working better while fighting the political bs, with 100% less headache so win win for the solders and me I hope.

I am craving an AA round and I will get that fix sooner rather than later. Well I will check back in soon.
